Secular weddings

With Siðmennt you will get a personal experience – highlighting the love between you and your partner in a personal manner. Our ceremonies are not religious in any way, and focus on universal values as well as the newlywed's personal believes and wishes.
When choosing a secular wedding you are opting for a personal and a heartfelt ceremony. Working closely with your celebrant, the ceremony is yours to tailor to your own vision of the perfect wedding-day.
Secular weddings have no religious connotations. The celebrant will make the ceremony all about the newlyweds to-be and interlace their personal history with thoughts about life and love.
Where can we have our secular wedding ceremony?
We have held wedding ceremonies in almost every location imaginable. No idea is too big or small! We have wedded people in front of waterfalls, on the beach, in summerhousse, at apartments. Just send us your wishes and we'll make it happen.
A typical secular wedding ceremony
- Music is played to open up the ceremony. The betrothed enter the venue.
- The celebrant says a few words to welcome guests and makes a speech about the couple, their history, life and love in general.
- Vows and rings. The marriage is sealed with a kiss!
Since 2013 all weddings at Siðmennt have been legally valid. Once you send your inquiry you will get all the information about the documents required. If you're not looking for a legal wedding ceremony, we still offer symbolic ceremonies and ceremonies for couple to renew their vows.
