Anna Brynja studied Acting at Rose Bruford Collage and has a master's degree in Acting Education from Iceland University of the Arts.

  • Bjarni Jónsson

    Bjarni has long experience as a celebrant. He is educated in printing with an emphasis on packaging, but then turned to services for people and companies. Lived with family in Sweden for a while. He was, among other things, managing director of horticultural farmers for several years and was appointed the first managing director of Siðmennt in 2015 after working on the board for about 15 years, i.e. vice chairman for a time. He has worked with people for decades who are useful in the preparation of activities and in conversations with people who approach Siðmenntar with activities. Environmental issues are on his mind, but he also cares about social equality as well as other social issues and human rights. He is one of the founders of Life Dignity, an association for assisted dying. He has an extensive experience with Nordic and international work in the last decades. Activity leader since 2007 and was in the first group at Siðmennt that receive celebrant training.

  • Bjarni Snæbjörnsson

    Bjarni has a friendly persona and loves all the colourful aspects of life. He has a BFA degree in Acting and a master's degree in Acting Education from Iceland University of the Arts. Bjarni works full time as an actor, teacher, singer and an event manager. He has been a celebrant for Siðmennt since 2015.

    Elísabet is a curator for ASÍ art museum. She also runs the gallery Outvert Art Space in Ísafjörður, a town located in Westfjords where she lives. She became a celebrant for Siðmennt in 2015, and is located in her hometown. She both wants to give locals the option to have their ceremonies at home, and to bring people to the beautiful Westfjords for their ceremonies.

    People in love are my favorite! My ceremonies are personal and unique for each couple. Icelandic nature is so different from everything else, whether in the lava field, on a black beach, by a beautiful waterfall, on the glacier, or even inside the glacier… I am up for anything! I also work as a tour guide, so I can assist with locations and such. I am cheerful, strive to make the couple smile laugh even, and do my utmost to make that special moment full of love and unforgettable feelings.

    Guðrún Vala was born in 1966 and lives in Borgarnes with her husband. She has four grown children and seven grandchildren. Guðrún Vala has a degree in Anthropology, teaching, and management. Her interests are diverse, e.g., multiculturalism, human rights, humanism, literature, outdoor activities, and exercise. She enjoys being with her family but feels best when she has many irons in the fire. Guðrún Vala became a celebrant in 2018 and, since then, has been managing ceremonies with love, humor, and warmth as a guide.

Hilmar makes sure that his ceremonies are personal and beautiful, and fit into the wishes of his clients. He has been a celebrant for Siðmennt since 2018.

    Inga was born in Reykjavík back in 1992 and lived in Snæfellsnes during her teenage years. She is truly honoured to get the opportunity to rejoice in big moments with people with warmth, sincerity and humour. Inga graduated with a bachelors degree in philosophy in 2020 and is currently enrolling in a master's program in ethnology at the University of Iceland, where her main focus is the relationship between animals and humans. On the sidelines she works as an assistant at the NPA center. She has been a celebrant since 2016 and also worked as an instructor at Siðmennt's confirmation program.

    Íris Stefanía was born in 1986 and is a performing artist and curator who creates feminist works emphasizing women's lives and bodies. She teaches theater, belly dancing, and other things related to pleasure and well-being. Iris is a child of nature and loves nothing more than lighting a bonfire at the beach and swimming in the cold sea. Íris has great faith in the good in people and makes an effort to create soft and beautiful moments interwoven with humor where everyone feels good.

    Jóhann was born in 1966 and has been a celebrant for Siðmennt since 2007. He was the president of Siðmennt from 2015-2018 and has a master's degree in Philosophy. He works as an elementary teacher, where he focuses on teaching children and teenagers Philosophy.

  • Katrín Oddsdóttir

    Katrín is a cheerful lawyer with an unwavering belief in beauty, humor, and justice. Katrín Oddsdóttir is a human rights lawyer, activist and improviser. She has a master's degree in human rights from the University of London, a bachelor's degree in law from Reykjavík University, and a bachelor's degree in media studies from Dublin City University. She works as a lawyer at the Right Law Firm on environmental issues and human rights. She also performs various consulting tasks, e.g., for the Icelandic Disability Alliance. She is a person who is very interested in the fight for the rights of disabled people. Katrín was a member of Stjórnlagaráð, a Constitutional Council, and has actively fought for the enactment of the new constitution and traveled around the world to lecture on the Icelandic constitutional process.

  • Kolbeinn Tumi Daðason

    Kolbeinn Tumi is a civil engineer in his forties who decided to change scenery and has worked as a journalist for over a decade. He has roots in Scotland and is a „Vesturbæingur“ through and through but wishes he had a solid connection to beautiful places in the countryside. A big sports fan, with tennis and football standing out. He plays the piano, although his skills have not landed him more significant projects than a Christmas ball at WOW Air and evenings at Götubar. The dream ceremony evokes both laughter and tears of joy. It feels like a true honor to be a part of significant moments in people's lives. Celebrant from 2022.

Margrét doesn't take life too seriously but is very serious about entertainment and parties.

  • Margrét Gauja Magnúsdóttir

    Margrét Gauja has a dynamic of creating a very welcoming environment for the people around her during the ceremonies. Laughter is usually one of her main objectives. She does not hesitate to embrace challenges such as mountains and glacier hiking. She is a highly experienced glacier guide with certified qualifications and a bus license. Margrét's educational journey includes a BA in pedagogy, a Master's degree in human resource management (HRM), and a teaching diploma. She is currently the manager of 2 youth centers in her hometown of Hafnarfjörður. If you earn her trust, she might tell you about her Eurovision story, that she competed in the qualifiers in Iceland in 1988 and sang Sólarsamba with her father, one of the most renowned Icelandic Rock Stars. She would not sing the song, though; that will never happen. Margrét Gauja is passionate about the Icelandic national costumes and hand-made knitted sweaters. In fact, she designs and knits incredible sweaters made of Icelandic wool. To which is suitable for every occasion, even ceremonies.

    Margrét Harpa Guðsteinsdóttir was born in 1977 and lives in Lambhagi, a farm in South Iceland, with her husband and their four kids. She studied Icelandic and German at the University of Iceland but works as a region governor along with raising her kids and working at the farm. Margrét Harpa has many various hobbies, such as music, reading, outdoor activities, gym, cooking, raising kids, and spending time with friends and family. She sings and plays several instruments and loves and thrives when she gets plenty of different and changing projects. Margrét Harpas ceremonies are sincere and festive with a good amount of humor if that is wished for.

    Mörður was born in 1953 in Reykjavík. He specialises in Icelandic Studies and has worked as an editor, writer, publisher, assistant to the Minister of Finance and a member of parliament. He is interested in every aspect of culture and society, is an environmentalists and a feminist.

Mother of three children, married to a sheep farmer and that is why the family lives in one of the world's most beautiful places: Snæfellsnes. She is sincere and puts effort into personal and memorable ceremonies, preferably in Snæfellsnes, with a connection to the environment. Ragnhildur has worked as an expert, assistant professor and has been the manager for Snæfellsnes Regional Park since 2014. Celebrant for Siðmennt since 2022.

  • Selma Lóa Björnsdóttir

    Selma was born in 1974 and is an aesthete who loves art, culture and traveling. She works as an independent artist, singer, writer and actress, and some of you may know her for her performance in Eurovision in 1999 and 2005. Selma is always in high spirits and loves to take part in important moments in people's lives. She has been a celebrant for Siðmennt since 2018.

  • Sesselía Ólafsdóttir

    She is a trained actor and director and was chosen as Akureyri's town artist in 2023. Sesselía is one of the founders of both the comedy duo “Vandræðskáld” and the theater group “Umskiptingar” and has worked as an actor, party manager, and entertainer. She has written scripts for plays and award-winning short films, published a book of poetry, and loves to spice up marriage ceremony texts with humor and fun snapshots into the daily life of the couple. Sesselía became a celebrant in 2018 and works in the North.

    Sigurður (Ziggy) was born in 1974. He has worked as a celebrant for Siðmennt since 2013 and has also conducted ceremonies for the Humanists in Norway (HEF). He pursued studies to become a specialist in Information Technology (IT) and worked at a funeral home for many years in his family company. He currently resides and operates in Iceland, available to conduct ceremonies throughout the entire week. He has a keen interest in languages, history, and anthropology.

    Steinar Harðarson was born in 1944 and has been a celebrant since 2007. Steinar has been a board member of Siðmennt and then treasurer from 2013-2017. He has managed numerous ceremonies. Steinar studied technology and worked in Sweden in the years 1969-1980. He was a district manager at the Labor Inspectorate in Reykjavík from 1999. Steinar is a great enthusiast for social justice and equality and has been on the board and one of the founders of the Icelandpanorama company that works against prejudice and discrimination.

  • Svanhvít Sjöfn Skjaldardóttir

    Svanhvít Sjöfn Skjaldardóttir was born in 1987, living in her hometown in Westfjords of Iceland. She has been educated in the fields of social work, gender studies, and positive psychology. It is not only her experience with the various projects that are useful to her in her work as a celebrant, but she also has a beautiful view of life and is always guided by improvement and society.

    Tinna studied philosophy and design and has also worked as a TV producer for years. Tinna is a soft-hearted hardhead, who has a way of getting to the crux of a matter as well as presenting it appropriately. She loves her espresso and thinks the definition of a good coffee lies in good company. Tinna enjoys losing to her family at cards, hiking in the mountains, and messing around in the garden, and at every ceremony, she is equally humbled by the privilege of sharing people's most important moments with them. Tinna performs ceremonies in English, as well as Danish and Italian for those who dare.

    Tryggvi is a biologist, a director, and a guide. He has married nearly 200 couples and aims for at least 200 more.

    Tryggvi's goal is always to make personal and unforgettable events containing at least one laugh and tear. He marries people in homes and the central highlands, on top of or inside a glacier, out at sea, or by flowing lava. He has even performed a ceremony in a Darth Vader outfit and Scottish Highlander attire, with all that goes with it.
